The objective of this Technical Cooperation (TC) is to support the Government of Suriname in enhancing the understanding of electricity subsidy systems and advancing the transition toward more efficient and better-targeted mechanisms. The TC will provide analytical inputs to inform policy, regulatory, and institutional frameworks, with the aim of improving the efficiency and equity of electricity supply, reducing sector inefficiencies and financial losses, and identifying conditions that support long-term sustainability and private sector participation.
