Identifying the Majority:Methodologies Measuring revalence of Identity Documents

The general objective of this project is to contribute to the promotion of access to rights and social services by the poorest of the region via the development of statistical tools for accurately measuring the prevalence of identity documents among adults. Specific objectives are: (i) to contribute to the piloting of questions on adult documentation that could eventually be incorporated in national household surveys and in the 2010 census round; (ii) to contribute to awareness raising and capacity building of government officials working in national statistics agencies; (iii) to contribute to improved targeting of vulnerable populations in IDB projects; and (iv) to generate knowledge for the upcoming regional conference on identity documents, to be entitled, Todos Somos, and general research by the Bank under the Building Opportunities for the Majority initiative.
