IIRSA - Navigability Studies for the Napo River Ecuador-Peru
The improvements in the conditions of navigation will cause a greater fluvial traffic and therefore it will contribute to the economic integration of the Amazonian region to the regional economy. In this context, the waterway constitutes the support for other productive sectors, also, constitutes the integrating instrument between far away towns with the centers of distribution and the transport of people inside the region. It conforms, jointly with the highways, airports, the ways of a multimodal transport system for the development of these regional economies, as well as the central factor for the border interconnection (Peru-Ecuador).
