Strategy for CSR in Latin America and the Caribbean SMEs

The main objective of this project is to produce country strategies to support small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs) in responding to the demands of Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (CSR) in the Region. These strategies will be based on detailed information about the current situation gathered by another report on CSR practices in SMEs in Latin America. This report is based on surveys and analyses of other sources. It will help the design, implementation and effectiveness of projects in support of CSR by enhancing the knowledge of stakeholders, including the Bank, on how to approach CSR in SMEs in beneficiary countries, depending on each country's local attributes. There is a link between development of CSR and the economic development of countries. CSR policies or strategies should be based on localized issues and cultural traditions at the country level.
