This study will address three topics of central importance to bank supervisors, resolving key uncertainties related to regulatory standards for microfinance in the areas of risk weights, loan loss provisions, and capital adequacy. The results of the study will also be highly relevant to investors, who need to understand and estimate the risk of microfinance in their investment decisions.
