Climate-Smart Agriculture Fund

The overall objective of the Fund is to catalyze greater private sector investment in sustainable agriculture, forestry, and rangeland systems in order to maintain and improve the flow of agro-ecosystem services from productive landscapes in the face of climate change and increasing resource scarcity. Climate-smart agriculture investments improve productivity and profits for agribusinesses and their value chains while decreasing greenhouse gas emissions from land use, improving management of ecosystem services and increasing the resilience of productive systems. The Fund will have two main investment areas: i) restoration of degraded lands through reforestation and other measures; and (ii) improved agricultural management through sustainable certification of agricultural products and water efficiency investments in agricultural value chains.
