Building Capacity for Climate Resilience in Amazonian Cities: Raising Local Well-being

This TC aims to strengthen urban resilience in the Amazon region by improving the capacity of regional, national, and subnational governments to generate and use evidence for decision-making, plan and finance resilient urban investments, and coordinate actions across levels of government and countries to advance a shared agenda for sustainable urban development. The specific objectives are (i) to develop a strategic knowledge agenda to guide decision making and facilitate the mobilization of resources for sustainable and resilient interventions; (ii) to strengthen subnational institutional capacities for planning and investing in interventions to enhance access to key services in urban areas, reinforcing IDB operations in the Amazon region; and (iii) to reinforce multilevel governance and cross-country coordination to enable the construction of a shared long-term vision that guides resilient urban development policies.
