LAC Urban Finance and Innovation Network

This regional Technical Cooperation (TC) is designed to strengthen the capacities of members of the City Finance Secretaries Network of LAC, a city-led platform supported by the IDB serving as Technical Secretariat. Through a flexible, progressive, and demand-driven approach tailored to cities' needs, the TC seeks to improve the members' access to financing for urban resilience and sustainable urban development. The specific objectives of this TC are: (i) to support cities in strengthening enabling conditions for access to financing for urban resilience, including improvements in local public finances, financial planning, the preparation of bankable projects, and the strategic use of financial instruments to access urban resilience financing; (ii) to consolidate the institutional and operational capacities of the Network by strengthening its coordination, governance, and operational mechanisms, ensuring its sustainability and effectiveness through the consolidation of processes and working tools that reinforce its positioning as a regional platform; and (iii) to position the Network as a regional reference through the systematization of lessons learned, the generation of applied knowledge, and the strategic dissemination of results, strengthening its reach, recognition, and articulation with key stakeholders.
