Urban Innovation for Resilience in LAC Cities

This TC seeks to accelerate the ability of cities to identify, test, and integrate innovative solutions into their urban development practices. Its core objective is to strengthen climate resiliency and social inclusion in LAC cities through place-based prototyping and technology-assisted planning. The TC will: (i) build a robust knowledge base to support the institutionalization of urban innovation and data-driven planning practices; (ii) co-design, test, and evaluate prototypes addressing key resilience challenges, such as public space quality, housing conditions, and the integration of natural ecosystems into the built environment; and (iii) strengthen knowledge transfer and capacity building – particularly digital innovation and Smart City oriented planning – so local governments and practitioners can adopt and scale effective practices.
