School Feeding in Latin America and the Caribbean

The general objective of this Technical Cooperation is to contribute to the IDB's leadership in the school feeding agenda in Latin America and the Caribbean by generating evidence, regional knowledge, and operational inputs that support the design, implementation, and supervision of efficient, sustainable, nutritious, and context-appropriate school feeding programs. The specific objectives are to: (i) generate comparative evidence on the real costs, cost drivers, and operational models of school feeding programs in selected Caribbean countries, with a focus on food security, efficiency, sustainability, and contextual adaptation; (ii) produce an updated regional snapshot of school feeding in Latin America and the Caribbean, identifying trends, gaps, innovations, institutional models, and lessons learned to inform policy dialogue, regional learning, and strategic investment decisions; and (iii) develop practical inputs and knowledge translation products to support IDB project teams and country counterparts in the preparation, implementation, and supervision of school feeding operations.
