Sustainable artisanal fishing and bio-businesses for food security and market access in the Peru-Colombia Border Integration Zone
Strengthen fisheries management and the local economy in communities of the Putumayo River basin, under a binational sustainability approach in the Border Integration Zone (ZIF) between Colombia and Peru: 1) Promote transboundary fisheries governance through binational working groups, diagnostics, and monitoring systems that support the sustainable management of artisanal fishing; 2) Boost bio-businesses linked to the fisheries value chain by providing training, technical assistance, and equipment support to diversify income and facilitate market access; 3) Improve food security in riverine communities through community plans, nutritional education, and collective solutions for access to water and nutritious food.
