Support to the ratification, early implementation and leverage of the MERCOSUR-European Union Agreement
The general objective of this TC is to strengthen the technical and institutional capacity of the MERCOSUR full member countries in the early stages of signing, ratifying, and implementing the bi-regional trade agreement with the European Union (EU). The specific objectives are: (i) to assess the economic and regulatory impacts, as well as the legal and institutional reforms needed to fully leverage the agreement; (ii) to provide technical support to national authorities during the signing, legislative ratification, and design of implementation plans; and (iii) to identify priority areas for intra-regional intervention to prevent the erosion of trade preferences, the obsolescence of the regional regulatory framework, and to jointly seize new market access opportunities.
