Energy transition frictions

The energy transition presents a unique set of challenges that extend beyond the large-scale adoption of low-carbon technologies. These challenges encompass economic, social, and institutional frictions, among others. This TC aims to develop cutting-edge knowledge products to identify, quantify, and address these frictions, with a focus on market transformations, fiscal constraints, regulatory bottlenecks, social acceptance, and the political economy of interest groups. By providing actionable insights, this project aims to help policymakers and stakeholders across Latin America and the Caribbean in designing strategies that overcome these frictions and ensure an inclusive and equitable path to sustainable growth.
