Regional support to combat migrant smuggling and data research for policy formulation
The general objective of this technical cooperation is to support the Member Countries of the Andean Community: Plurinational State of Bolivia, Republic of Colombia, Republic of Ecuador, and Republic of Peru in decision-making processes aimed at implementing actions to mitigate the illicit trafficking of migrants (TIM). This support will be provided through the development of tools and review of applicable regulations. Two specific objectives are proposed: (i) institutional strengthening in response to this issue and its impact on women, children, and adolescents by developing a subregional and/or bilateral action roadmap; and (ii) enhancing subregional and bilateral cooperation by promoting data- and research-based decisions, assessing the needs of the Member Countries, and facilitating their participation in consultation processes through a subregional dialogue with a gender, generational, and intercultural approach.
