Aligning Climate Action in Cities with the Paris Agreement
The overall objective is to increase climate ambition in LAC cities, primarily intermediate cities across the region, through the following specific objectives: (i) develop technical inputs to inform climate planning and the design of mitigation and adaptation projects in cities and support the alignment of CSD/HUD operations with the Paris Agreement and accounting for climate and green finance; (ii) generate knowledge sharing opportunities between subnational and national governments to promote climate action in cities, the implementation of NDCs in city-level investment projects, and the mobilization of resources for climate action in cities. (iii) strengthen knowledge management for urban climate action (systematize good practices and lessons learned, conduct training courses, develop inputs to facilitate communication, create opportunities to disseminate knowledge).
