Fostering the development of sustainable and resilient infrastructure in the Caribbean region
The objective of this Technical Cooperation (TC) is to support the Caribbean countries in the development of national roadmaps to foster low carbon, resilient and inclusive infrastructure, therefore, closing the infrastructure gap and the achievement of the climate commitments under their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), as well as the sustainable development goals. This TC, through its multisectoral approach, aims at: (i) creating National Infrastructure Investment Plans-NIIPs, aligned to the Paris Agreement and with gender considerations , involving: energy, transportation, trade infrastructure, telecommunications, water and sanitation, and public services (health, education, government, security) to support the expansion of project pipelines and project preparation and bankability; (ii) contributing to the digital transformation of the provision of public services through sustainable infrastructure; and (iii) strengthening the regulatory framework to further develop Public Private Partnerships as a way to encourage private capital mobilization.
