Sustainable development in the Amazon with a gender and diversity perspective.
This project aims to generate updated information and technical inputs regarding economic, social and environmental, inclusive and sustainable development in the Amazon region of Colombia, Bolivia, Brazil, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru, and Suriname. These inputs will inform both country strategies and the design of operations in the region under the Amazon Initiative. The TC will produce relevant knowledge on: a) Identification of barriers and solutions to market access, financial capital, and technical assistance needs for potential beneficiaries with emphasis on indigenous peoples, afro descendants an women, b) Socio-economic characterization of the Amazon region of each country to identify effective investments, in the social sector; and, c) Knowledge dissemination to promote strategies to support sustainable bio-economy, gender equality, and development with identity.
