Zero carbon energy paths in the Caribbean
The general objective of this Technical Cooperation (TC) is to help Caribbean countries to advance towards a more resilient, affordable and sustainable energy sector, with the promotion of economic integration, the use of Renewable Energies (RE), Energy Efficiency (EE), Energy Conservation (EC), cleaner fuels and storage technologies. The TC will have the following specific objectives to: (i) develop a common strategy for the expansion of the energy sector that considers low carbon emissions, climate change via resilient infrastructure, standards and regulations, and opportunities for economic integration; (ii) development of local capacities in planning that consider the benefits of economic integration, expansion of RE and distributed generation; and (iii) training and certification of energy experts while creating mechanisms for the exchange and dissemination of knowledge.
