Inclusive Circular Economy in the Pacific Alliance

The general objective of this Technical Cooperation (TC) is to finance the design and implementation of inclusive circular economy policies and projects in The Pacific Alliance (PA) to facilitate the transition towards circular municipal solid waste management (SWM) models. The specific objectives of the TC are: i) to support national, sub-national and municipal governments of the PA in the design and implementation inclusive circular economy policies and projects; ii) to increase recycling rates at the national and municipal levels; and iii) to improve the quality of life of informal recyclers by facilitating their integration into formal SWM management programs. The operation will prioritize countries of The Pacific Alliance (PA), namely Chile and Peru. This TC gives continuity to the inclusive recycling and circular economy agendas carried out under operations RG-G1010 and RG-T2699, through which, under he framework of the Regional Initiative for Inclusive Recycling (IRR), today Latitud R, support was given for the design and implementation of projects that contributed to the development of inclusive recycling systems in LAC, seeking to improve the quality of life of informal recyclers and to increase recycling levels in the region.
