Tools to Design Fiscal Transition and Recovery Policies in Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic

This RPG will consist of developing agreed standards and uniform tools that support the governments of the region in the design and implementation of comprehensive economic stimulus plans, support for the most vulnerable households and firms, and fiscal consolidation, for the period of transition of the pandemic and the post pandemic. The standards and toolkit to be developed, through the performance of simulations based on microdata from different household surveys available to the countries, will allow to measure the cost of public policies and their impact on growth, poverty, vulnerability and equity. The RPG will also seek to generate knowledge about the effectiveness of novel interventions, in order to have evidence to support decision-making by LAC governments. The results of the micro simulations and the knowledge generated will allow the design and implementation of the aforementioned comprehensive plans to be completed.
