Macro-Fiscal Monitoring for LAC in the Pandemic and Post-Pandemic
The objective of this TC project is to evaluate and generate tools for macro fiscal supervision of the region's economy. Currently 11 operations have been signed to support fiscal support for the pandemic in the region. These operations are framed in promoting the return to the fiscal consolidation processes in which the region came. The uncertainty posed by the solution to the Pandemic requires close monitoring of the countries' fiscal vulnerabilities and their respective perspectives. In this sense, the specific objectives are: (i) to generate indicators on macroeconomic variables to characterize liquidity and solvency problems and to closely monitor the macro-fiscal situation in the Pandemic; (ii) develop methodologies that allow quantifying the impact of the pandemic shock in the countries of the region and estimating both the fiscal cost during and in the post-pandemic (iii) promoting sectoral and global dialogue among countries for the development of regions policies that mitigate the negative effects of the pandemic and create the mechanisms to return to the path of fiscal consolidation.
