Support for the Renewal of Passenger and Cargo Fleet in Latin America and the Caribbean
The objective of this Technical Cooperation (TC) is to improve the performance of passenger transport and automotive freight transport (AFT) in LAC by: (i) analyzing international experience and identifying best practices in fleet renewal programs; (ii) the identification of the institutional, regulatory components and the key fiscal, financial and non-financial incentives in such programs, including their estimation methods and sources of funding; (iii) the design of a guide with type of fleet renewal programs, according to the segment and the public policy objective established, including its implementation channels; and (iv) support to two countries in the region in the design of such programs. The added value provided by the IDB through this TC is the ability to identify and provide good practices and lessons learned nationally and internationally, for greater efficiency in the design of the aforementioned public policies.
