Strengthening Financial Transparency: Rebuilding Trust in Correspondent Banking in the Caribbean
The proposed solution is to mitigate risks by improving the ability of local FIs to comply with international regulations, lowering the associated costs and tipping the cost-benefit analysis of CBRs, ultimately creating a healthy financial sector. The project will focus on the Bahamas, Barbados, Belize and Jamaica, countries most affected with interest in both the public and private sector to urgently address the issue.
