Strengthening Regional Health Security: Technical Support to Caribbean Countries toward the enhancement and maintenance of their International Health Regulations (IHR 2005) core Competencies
The objective of this TC is to strengthen International Health Regulatory (IHR) capacities of the three participating countries: Belize, Guyana, Jamaica, especially capacities related to infectious and vector borne disease detection, response and prevention. In keeping with the tenants of the IHR JEE Tool, the project will focus on the following: (1) Given that the IHR preparedness infrastructure of the participating countries is very weak, the project will meet the immediate countries' needs by funding the priority areas identified in section 2.3 (2) To address long term and sustainable IHR requirements, the project will fund the development of detailed costed IHR Country Readiness Plans, which will include a rigorous gap analysis and a regional security coordination strategy.
