Enhancing China-LAC trade and investment relationships

The main objective of the project is to continue strengthening the trade and investment relationship between China and LAC in both quantity and quality terms, thus producing greater and more sustainable economic development and integration between the two regions with amplified aggregate and distributional benefits for all parties involved.

The project will be taking a two-pronged approach: (a) To draw upon previous success and continue the Bank's relevant work in the LAC-China business sphere (b) To help LAC countries capture, promote, and create new dynamics in the bilateral relationship with China, e.g. e-commerce, SME activities, among others. In order to accomplish these 2 objectives, this TC includes 3 specific initiatives: (I) Capacity building and training programs for LAC trade and investment authorities (II) Promoting and launching ConnectAmericas.com in China, and (III) the X China-LAC Business Summit.
