Climate Change and Indigenous Peoples of the Amazon
The main objective of this project is to build the capacity of indigenous leaders and communities to represent themselves at international and national level climate change discussions. This project will also provide technical assistance to these leaders and communities in order to better prepare them to manage the short and long term impacts and potential opportunities of mechanisms being developed under the UNFCCC and existing and emerging voluntary carbon market mechanisms that support climate change mitigation for land use change and forestry (LULUCF) in general.
