Project Status: Closed

The overall objective of the Regional Technical Cooperation (RTC) is to develop Private Sector Development Strategies for the OECS countries, identifying projects to support the private sector in the OECS and generating lineages and synergies with the Bank¿s regional operations in CARICOM. The specific objectives of the TC are to: (i) review and diagnose the status of private sector development in the OECS, (ii) make recommendations for competitiveness improvement and develop a draft private sector development strategy and action plan, including IDB-CDB collaboration opportunities, and (iii) build consensus among key stakeholders on future actions under the action plan. The expected results are: (i) valuable information to develop a CARICOM Private Sector Development Strategy; (ii) a list of potential opportunities for the CDB and the IDB to develop operations, in particular the identification of operations that could be supported through the COMPETE CARIBBEAN program; and (iii) to have consensus on private sector development strategies and action plans in each of the seven OECS countries.
