RG-T1646 : Gender, the Missing Link in Youth Development

Project Status: Closed

The project goal is to improve the effectiveness of youth development initiatives by including gender focus in interventions. This will be achieved by: consolidating knowledge about state-of-the-art approaches that incorporate gender focus and disseminating it to project stakeholders; testing selected approaches in pilot studies, in collaboration with agencies of the Inter-American System and the World Bank; and improving knowledge sharing and development of joint initiatives by enhancing the existing Inter-American knowledge management platform on Children and Youth Development, so that it may provide Bank specialists and its clients, government, NGO practitioners, the World Bank, OAS, PAHO, and other partners, with a practical road map on how to effectively and consistently integrate gender perspective in the existing and future youth development initiatives. Accordingly, the project will consist of the following three activity components: 1) Research, 2) Pilot testing and evaluation, and 3) Knowledge management.
