Incentives to Work for Families with Conditional Cash Transfers

The objective of the project is to advance knowledge on the relationship between conditional cash transfers and incentives to work. The design of the conditional cash transfers in the region usually penalize beneficiaries for being formalized in the labor market, taking them out of the CCT programs. The purpose of this regional study is to investigate how beneficiaries (treatment group) and non-beneficiaries with similar characteristics (control group) differ in their behavior in the labor market. This will be related directly with how the different CCT programs are designed in terms of their exit strategies. This will help to understand if there is a need to reevaluate those exit strategies in order to have better program design and more formalized workers, regardless of their beneficiary condition.
