Development of the Caribbean Energy Sector

3.1 The overall goal is to assist the Caribbean countries in evaluating the potential for, and advantages and disadvantages of, integration in the energy sector by examining, amongst other issues, achieving a sustainable and secure supply of energy, the economic impact of oil prices, fostering efficient energy production and consumption, and the operational aspects of energy policies on their economies. In the long run, the assessment of the energy issues, and policy and pricing recommendations, can be applied by Caribbean countries in a broader context for future strategy formulations and potential integration initiatives.
