Subnational Development and Decentralization Reform in L.A.

The overall objective is to contribute to the strengthening of the decentralization processes in the Latin-American countries and to the effectiveness of subnational governments through analyzing and sharing experiences and lessons learned in five key areas: (i) Fiscal decentralization and intergovernmental fiscal responsibility; (ii) Public service decentralization and service delivery approaches; (iii) Subnational policy framework, governance and local capacity building; (iv) Policies and mechanisms for subnational investment financing; and (v) Local competitiveness and urban and regional development.
