SIRWASH – Sustainable and Innovative Rural Water, Sanitation and Hygiene – Phase II

The program's general objective is to capitalize, institutionalize and scale up the interventions conducted under SIRWASH program Phase I, with the final development goal of increasing access and quality of water, sanitation, and hygiene services in rural communities of targeted countries by developing adequate public policies and strengthening institutions and capacities. Specific objectives are: (i) In the targeted countries the rural wash sector governance is improved through better policy implementation and improved regulatory framework and (ii) Through South-South collaboration the knowledge is further strengthened, disseminated and is capitalized with a particular focus on the themes of Disaster Risk Reduction, Climate Change, Gender and inclusion.
