Agua Negra Pass International Tunnel Construction Program

The overall objective of the CCLIP is to help improve cross-border integration between Chile and Argentina, expanding the region's access to international markets through the Coquimbo-San Juan-Porto Alegre integration corridor. The specific objectives of the CCLIP are to enhance the connectivity and efficiency of the region's logistics network by building a mountain tunnel that will substantially improve the existing crossing at Agua Negra Pass. The results of this improvement will include reduced travel times, greater resilience of the crossing to the effects of climate change, and increased passenger and freight volume across the Agua Negra Pass.
