RG-M1219 : Strengthening Incentives and Capacities Improved Environmental Social Peformance

The general objective of the project is to improve the social, economic, and environmental performance of artisanal and small-scale mining in LAC. The specific objective of the project is to support the formalization and incorporation environmental and social best practices in artisanal and small scale gold mining cooperatives in Bolivia, Colombia and Peru, through Fairtrade Fairmined certification. The Project will contain the following components: (i) improving local capacities to support certification and formalization of artisanal and small-scale gold mining, (ii) strengthening incentives for formalization and sustainability in artisanal and small-scale mining, (iii) connecting artisanal and small-scale mining to formal markets, and (iv) dissemination and knowledge management.
