RG-M1208 : CARIBBEAN MICROFINANCE CAPACITY-BUILDING PROGRAM II

The purpose of the project is to implement a capacity-building project that will enable 15-20 Caribbean MFIs to continue improving their performance and outreach and become sound institutions contributing to the strengthening of the microfinance sector in the Caribbean region.l The project will have four components:1) Enhanced Capacity- Building (ECB) focusing on new product development, social performance and corporate governance; 2) Financial Capacity-Building for 5-10 new Institutions, based on areas of need identified in performance assessments; 3) Consolidation of CMFA to enable it to become a ¿credible voice¿ for microfinance in the region; and 4) Implementation of a learning and communication strategy.
