RG-M1207 : Micro finance Integrated Business Model for Health Services

Microfinance organizations can serve as a powerful and fully sustainable channel to deliver preventative and primary healthcare, leveraging existing infrastructure, and reaching out to people living in poverty, often in remote areas. Global Partnerships, a nonprofit investor in 30 leading social enterprise MFIs and Cooperatives in Latin America, will develop sustainable service delivery models and disseminate lessons learned from three different countries in which MFIs facilitate improved access to quality health services and achieve improved health outcomes for more than 75,000 of their clients who also receive credit and savings services. The utilization of health services is promoted by offering market based pre-paid, savings-based payment mechanisms, and/or credit products to help finance health-improving investments
