RG-M1123 : Forest Conservation through Certification, Commercialization and Strengthening o

The project objectives are the achievement of: 1) significant growth in the adoption of sustainable management practices by 75 community and indigenous operations having approximately 9,000 families and members on one million hectares of forestland, leading to increased standard of living and purchasing power for individuals at the base of the economic pyramid; 2) strengthened marketing linkages for SMEs and increased investments in communities achieving sustainability; and 3) improved access to certification and improved competitiveness of community and indigenous forest operations. The overall purpose of this project is to foster improved standards of living and increased purchasing power for communities and individuals through sustainable, certified forest management.
