RG-L1049 : Hidrovias Transport

The objective of the Project is provide long term project financing for the purchase, operation and maintenance of a push boat and barge fleet for transporting 3.25 million tons per year of iron ore from Corumbá, Brazil to Argentina or Uruguay via the Paraguay-Paraná Waterway. The Project addresses one of the strategic objectives in the GCI-9 of fostering development through the private sector. It also contributes to three of the five GCI-9 sector priorities: (i) infrastructure for competitiveness; (ii) lending target of 15 per cent by the end of 2015 to support competitive regional and global integration through the identified priority topic of transport infrastructure in particular; and (iii) protect the environment, respond to climate change.
