Support for the transformation and modernization of social security in Paraguay

The Technical Cooperation (TC) seeks to strengthen the institutionality of the pension system in Paraguay, supporting the Government (GoP) in the implementation of the Superintendence of Retirement and Pensions (SJP). This entity will specialize in the regulation and supervision of the system. To this end, TC focuses on two main objectives: (1) to develop the organizational structure and operational capacity necessary for the effective functioning of the SJP; and (2) provide the SJP with the regulatory and supervisory capacities to guarantee the stability and solvency of the pension system. This TC is necessary not only to address the challenges of coverage, equity, and sustainability of the system, but also to improve its effectiveness and positively impact the labor market, as well as to contribute to the fiscal sustainability efforts pursued by the GoP.
