Strengthening of national mechanisms that advance gender and diversity inclusion

This technical cooperation seeks to strengthen the capacities of the National Secretariat for the Development of Afro-Panamanians (SENADAP) and the Ministry of Women (MIDEM) so that both institutions can play a more influential role in fulfilling their core mandates: closing gaps affecting the Afro-Panamanian population and leading public policy on sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV). The specific objectives are to: i) Develop regulatory and operational tools, as well as interinstitutional and community coordination mechanisms, to better identify, address, and reduce the inequalities faced by Afro-Panamanians; and ii) Generate critical institutional tools and capacities to strengthen the continuum of services for addressing sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) in Panama.
