Support to the establishment of a national care system in Panama

The technical cooperation supports the development of a care system in Panama with a gender approach, through the following activities: (i) support for the design of the institutionality of a care system in Panama that recognizes, reduces and redistributes the task of care between women and men, in the areas of early childhood care, personal assistance to people with disabilities, long-term care for the elderly in a situation of dependency; (ii) analysis of population aging and of the existing services for dependent care for the elderly, including a gender perspective in both the analysis of demand and supply; (iii) support for the impact evaluation of a pilot of care services for the elderly with dependency and its effects on female labor participation (implemented in the context of operation PN-L1177).
