Improvements to nutritional health and quality of education among infants and children of school age in indigenous areas
The objective of the cooperation is to improve the development and nutritional status of children under 4 as well as children of school age in the community of El Peñon and surrounding areas (Comarca Ngäbe Buglé) through the design and implementation of a service delivery model that incorporates best practices in nutrition in the home and school environments, guarantees diversified food consumption while supporting local production, improves hygiene practices in the home, and promotes the implementation of an integrated service delivery model for children in early childhood as well as improved access to quality education among children of school age. The cooperation is consistent with the Bank's strategy in Panama 2015-2019 (GN-2838), under the strategic objective of improving the delivery of basic services to population segments living in poverty.
