Impact of Panama Canal on Panama's Economy
The main objectives are: 1) To measure accurately and precisely, as well as forecast, the economic impact of the Panama Canal and related activities on the Panamanian economy. 2) To foster the implementation of a process to measure the above mentioned economic impact, by defining what, how, who and when of required information. 3) To measure, estimate and forecast the impacts, taking as a base the Panama Economic impact model and study developed by INTRACORP in2006. 4) To use the results of this study as input for decision making processes, complementing financial planning, pricing policies and marketing efforts, among others. 5) To have a tool to support communications strategy efforts with the different stakeholders. 6) To promote the sustainability of the model by providing in-house capacity for managing, maintaining and updating the model at the CPA.
