Support for the design of the Policy Reform Program for the Water, Sanitation, and Stormwater Drainage Sectors in Peru

The overall objective of this Technical Cooperation (TC) is to support the design of the Policy Reform Program for the Water, Sanitation, and Stormwater Drainage Sectors in Peru (PE-L1310). Under this TC, strategic and regulatory reforms will be promoted to contribute to the universalization of water and sanitation services, to enable the implementation of differentiated sanitation solutions appropriate to diverse territorial contexts in urban and rural areas; and to incorporate criteria of financial sustainability, as well as resilience and risk management, like source insufficiency and variability, operational failures, and institutional and social risks associated with service provision, as well as the impacts of natural disasters. Likewise, through this TC, the development of tools will be promoted to strengthen national-level planning for urban stormwater drainage and the design of regulations for the operation and maintenance of this type of infrastructure at the subnational level, incorporating climate change considerations.
