Support for the design and implementation of the Program for the Sustainability of the River Transport Model in the Amazon (PE-L1294)

The objective of this TC is to support the preparation of the Support Program for the Sustainability of the River Transport Model in the Amazon (PE-L1294). Among the main deliverables to be financed are complementary environmental and social impact studies, climate finance analysis, studies to improve and optimize the program's interventions in logistics, accessibility, and the provision of essential services, as well as studies on cross-cutting themes such as gender, diversity, and digitalization, which will be incorporated into the program.

The Government of Peru is preparing the Support Program for the Sustainability of the River Transport Model in the Amazon to improve river piers, which serve as the primary access points for communities in the Peruvian Amazon located along riverbanks. In addition to interventions in river infrastructure, this program includes the provision of access to basic services such as education and healthcare, as well as essential logistics.
