Digital Economy Forum for Women 2008, APEC-LAC 2008
Organize a forum under the umbrella of the APEC 2008 Meetings where high authorities, experts and business people will discuss on the importance of using ICT for women entrepreneurs and encourage local women to participate in the digital economy in order to contribute to the regional economic growth and social development. Its specific objectives are: a. To raise awareness on the importance of women's participation in the digital economy b. To identify major issues and obstacles and formulate a practical set of recommendations to facilitate women's participation in digital economy. c. To create network among women CEOs, policy makers, and academia to share professional knowledge and national best practices by interactive collaboration d. To evaluate the outcomes to appreciate rationales to implement further pilot project in Peru in order to maintain and build sustainability of this TC project and examine its applicability to the other countries of Latin America and Caribbean
