PE-M1108 : Building the Entrepreneurial and Innovation Ecosystem in Peru

The project will help launch an innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem conducive for early stage and VC investing in Peru. It is expected that this ecosystem will help create innovative companies that are globally competitive. These companies (mostly from the tech sector) in turn will be a source of high quality jobs, have a multiplier effect on the economy, and will create a virtuous cycle as some of their employees will leave them to start their own companies. The project will increase: i) entrepreneurship activity, ii) innovation capacity, and iii) investment capacity. It will do so through activities that aim to educate and invite entrepreneurs, research institutions, and investors, all key players in an innovation ecosystem, to work together building an early stage industry for Peru. Based on the impact of venture capital industries in other countries, this is a project with a very high potential for economic growth . The MIF, Alta - El Dorado Empredimiento, and other actors will contribute to building the ecosystem through this project, while Alta-El Dorado, as a seed/VC fund manager plans also to start investing in the new ventures.
