Resilience and urban inclusion in Barrios Altos

This IGR aims to improve accessibility and disaster preparedness for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) in Barrios Altos through pilot interventions that integrate inclusive public space and disability-responsive disaster risk management into the revitalization of historic urban areas. The specific objectives are to: (i) improve the accessibility, safety, and usability of selected public spaces through the implementation of universal accessibility measures and reasonable accommodations; (ii) strengthen disaster preparedness and response capacities through the design and operationalization of a disability-responsive MHEWS focused on fire and seismic risks; and (iii) generate and document lessons learned to support the pilot interventions, the design and potential replication of inclusive and resilient urban revitalization initiatives.
