Support for the program to boost the tourism sector in Mexico
The general objective of this Technical Cooperation (TC) is to support the Government of Mexico, through the National Fund for Tourism Promotion (FONATUR), in strengthening its institutional and strategic capacities to promote, in line with Plan México, a more sustainable, diversified, and territorially impactful tourism development model. The TC will contribute to this objective through two complementary lines of support: on the one hand, it will finance assessments and proposals aimed at modernizing FONATUR's institutional, operational, and financial architecture, updating its business model, and strengthening its long-term sustainability; on the other hand, it will generate strategic inputs to enhance its capacity to identify tourism potential, guide the diversification of tourism offerings, prioritize investment opportunities, and strengthen productive linkages associated with the sector.
