Institucional Strenghthening for States and Municipalities fiscal Responsibility
The objective of this Technical Cooperation (TC) is to strengthen the fiduciary systems of the Ministry of Finance and the institutional capacities of the Federal Government and sub-national governments, for the proper implementation of the Fiscal Discipline Law of Federative Entities and Municipalities (FDL). This will be achieved through: (i) the development and implementation of a computer module for the Alert System created by the mentioned FDL, which will facilitate the collection and processing of the information required by System, and the development and implementation of a platform for the elaboration of medium-term fiscal projections and analysis of debt sustainability; (ii) the training of sub-national government officials in the FDL; and (iii) the generation of evidence on the effectiveness of the FDL, in order to develop recommendations to strengthen the current legislation.
